Freshman Literature and Composition

Freshman Literature and Composition is designed to increase students’ reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. A major component of the instruction in this English course will involve extensive preparation for the 2013 MCA Writing Test. Therefore, most thematic literature units taught will conclude in expository or persuasive assessment products. Through the use of the writing process, students will receive individualized instruction in writing elements such as style, purpose, theme, thesis, support, paragraphing, grammar usage, spelling and punctuation.
